TRUSS calculates resale value by finding comparable products across our database of 200 million+ items and scoring each one for relevance. Every comparable is assessed on how closely it matches your item factoring in brand, model, material, colour, size, condition, how recently it sold, and the reliability of the platform it sold on.
Matches that are closer to your item carry more weight in the final price. If a comparable is missing key information like condition or colour, it's penalised so it doesn't skew the result. The system then produces a weighted average where the strongest matches have the most influence on your valuation.
On top of the price, TRUSS generates an overall confidence score that reflects how many relevant comparables were found, how closely they matched, and how stable the pricing was across them. All of the scoring and weighting behind this is continuously refined using statistical analysis of real market data, so the algorithm adapts as the market moves.
